The sun beat down hard on the growing land. New flowers pushed there way up from the soft ground to get there frist glimpses of the spring sun. Their briliant colors mixed together creating patterns that spread out across the open fields of the beautiful land. Everything seemed to be working in a silent harmony unseen by anybody. A small mare moved quietly through the trees and into the sunlight of the meadow. The soft breeze drifted towards her and played with her mane making it dance in patterns that swirled and looped in patterns across her face and neck. She was beautiful to see, a lovely image for the eyes to behold. She had the kind disposition to match it as well.
She didnt exactly know where she was at the moment but for some reason she didnt feel fear like she normally would have. The land seemed so at peace it made her fall into that same peaceful state. Slowly she moved off again traveling further into the meadow. Aromas started to fill her nostrils of mares and stallions that had passed through not that long ago. Those smells made her stop to look around but it wasnt long until she realized that she was still alone.
A small stream snaked across a corner of the meadow and it seemed to be calling her name. The heat seemed to be a suffocating factor so again she moved off towards the stream. The cool water felt wonderful against her lips. Everything is the land seemed to be at peace and that was what Dancer wanted.

x obsidian stud had finally decided to venture from his lair. he was content there - it was incredibly dark, though after a time eyes did adjust. the lake provided water, while soft matches of moss and shallow-rooted grasses provided sustenance. the lake really was quite awesome. he had never been an avid bather, but those cooling waters might change that. there was just enough cold to refreshingly tingle bones. it only made his black gleam even in this darkness, while his feathering and blazoned crown were white as bone. he had just finished a meal when he had the urge to further explore. though he knew every inch of this place, with all its' hidden secrets, he also knew this land had so much more to offer. not searching for food, liquid, or even company, the black shire set out. likely this would be no more than an exercise trip.
xx traveling with no particular destination in mind, the beast traversed terrain as lithely had he been a smaller, more agile breed. after a while he exited his beloved forest. gait evolved into a quick lope, and each step resonated like thunder. he had momentarily forgotten about the hot of the sun, but soon enough he was relishing it. he traveled on, seemingly unfaded by the distance he had traveled. all dreads seemed desperate to cling to his pelt, but the wind kept whipping them back. nostrils could not pick up a recent scent of equine, though this he did not mind. besides, he had grown used to others avoiding him. it was a wise decision. then wind whispered of some wolves nearby - quick glances to some trees showed they had bedded down for a while. none rose while he passed; that would have been a waste of energy and they knew it.
xxx he passed what surely must have been a water fall. he never saw it, but did hear its roar. next he was in a meadow and almost stopped, but eyed a forest on the horizon. there would be his rest stop. he had always admired the terrain of forests above all else. gait quickened only slightly, but now twin towers were perked in anticipation of their destination. by now a thin sheet of moisture covered skin in some places, but by no means was he spent. as he entered the tree-line, gait did not slow. it was around this time he realized that the smell he had caught a while back was hugely increased. so the female must have chosen the forest to rest in as well. that might be a fool choice on her part. but time would tell. paper-thins caught the aroma before ears picked up the sound - there be a water source nearby. but, alas! the forest gave away to a mere meadow. bah, humbug. 'twas here the female was; sipping at the water's edge like some princess. how amusing. gait did not slow, even when he was within speaking distance. she should consider herself lucky he did plow past her to get to the water. she was tiny when compared to his gigantic size. ah, he was used to it. for now he would completely ignore her like some rude colt who wasn't taught any better. rude, yes; but he had no reason to be cordial or friendly. though he had never been the friendly type
xxxx appendages slowed to a trot right before he breached the stream's edge. he then waltzed right in to fetlocks - the water wasn't very deep- and made enough movement to splash heated legs. but then frame quieted and he too lowered head to take a drink. it wasn't much of one, but it was something he would have to do eventually.

The sound of hoof beats drifted toward Dancer but they were far enough away that she let them become background noise to her own thoughts. It wasn't a rare for her to let her thoughts control her whole world and ignore what else may be around her.
It wasn't until she heard the sudden splash of water that she realized the hoof beats had become shockingly close. Dancers head shot up with ears perked and eyes wide. Quickly her eyes locked on the stallion that had rudely pushed his way past her to the water. He was big to say the least, standing a good deal taller then herself and black like night. He was an intimidating figure but Dancer was to naive for that fact to register in her mind. Instead she let out a loud snort and shook her mane.
Well excuse you she glared at him for a minute and then went back to drinking the water. Out of the corner of her eye she continued to watch him. He seemed like a different kind of character and it intrigued her.
ooc// sorry little muse at the moment. it will get better as this gets going

x as charcoal serpentine lowered to sip some refreshment, the tips of his mane broke the surface of the water. the drink wasn't a gigantic one, though was quite satisfactory. an aud flicked to the female as she snorted distaste to his action. ah, if only his reputation had preceded him. then she would be far more grateful and already found an escape route. not that Logan was bloodthirsty or lived for the kill. but oh, how dangerous he was. he had the quickness of a cat, but had the strength of a freight train.
xx he had every mind to continue ignoring the minx - perhaps giving her a nod when he left out of what was left of his gentleman side. but how she simply stared and scolded with that gaze...that was something odd. it reminded him of something he could not exactly pinpoint. and though he had encountered many females that would easily charge his frame with that look, he sensed she would not. the black stallion had never been intimidated or grown fearful of any female or any pain she boasted she could inflict. but it seemed this female was incapable of it. not physically. just he did not think it would be in her character to hurt anyone. so odd. someone who was helpless in his presence, yet sat there and scolded for the mere reason that he had been rude. she did not smart mouth off to him - which really did annoy him so-, and so yes, in a weird small way she had his attention.
xxx lips finished their drink and crown was raised to proper height. that girl really was tiny. she continued to drink has if nothing had happened or would happen, though eyes had never left his scarred hide. neck was given a shake, and the aforementioned mane ends and their stickiness had quite the effect on overall appearance. time would flatten it out again though. he was not a dirty beast. anyways, golden eyes watched the little mare. limbs animated in her direction. he walked slowly, straight yet with every resemblance of a snake coming up on its' dinner. he would try something he rarely did. pretend, for just a few minutes, that he wasn't the bad guy. when the hellion did stop, it was mere yards away. when he spoke, words struck like fangs at the air. there was not a macabre tone to them, though a menacing one if the hearer decided to take it that way. just the sheer power that naturally occurred could have that effect. but edges that were normally rough, coated with a cold bite; weren't. pretending as if earlier rude actions had never happened, masculine necked was tucked, ears pricked, and lips parted way
My dear, what are you doing out here all alone? There are so many things that would hurt you.
